Meet Jesse Arbaugh, D.D.S

Dr. Arbaugh is a general practice dentist who has limited his practice to endodontics, an area of dentistry concerned with the study and treatment of the dental pulp. Dr. Arbaugh takes great pleasure in treating patients at every stage of life. He particularly enjoys serving as a diagnostician as he is able to solve medical issues that their previous dentist could not. Bringing with him over two decades of expertise, Dr. Arbaugh was formerly a practitioner at the Neeley Dental Group in the Carrell Clinic and Turtle Creek Dental Associates.

Apart from his commitments at the office, Dr. Arbaugh has conducted research, resulting in several of his works being published. He has also contributed several presentations in the field based upon his research. Heavily involved in charity work as well, Dr. Arbaugh played a poignant role at Saint Hope’s Foundation for 15 years. The nonprofit organization specializes in treating patients with various diseases throughout Houston and rural counties. He has also been active with the HOPE Farm, which is a long term leadership development program that guides at-risk boys, without the benefit of a positive male role model in their homes, from the time they are 5-7 years old until high school graduation and beyond. Dr. Arbaugh averages approximately 100 hours of community service annually.

After graduating from high school in Waco, Texas, Dr. Arbaugh prepared for his career in medicine by studying at Southwest Texas State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in biology, summa cum laude, in 1997. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, he was active as a member of the Polymer Research Group, which was responsible for developing new plastic coatings for organizations such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and Estee Lauder. Continuing his studies, he earned a Doctor of Dental Science at the Baylor College of Dentistry in 2003. Additional educational pursuits to his credit include completing a summer research internship at the MD Anderson Cancer Research Center in Smithville, where he devoted his time to trying to isolate the retinoblastoma gene in the Xiphophorus maculatus. He also completed 20 months of additional training in the graduate endodontic program at Baylor College of Dentistry.

While in dental school at Baylor, Dr. Arbaugh was on the dean’s list every semester before ultimately being inducted into the dental fraternity Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honor only granted to 10% of graduating seniors. He was also fortunate to receive a scholarship to the Pierre Fauchard Academy, which is an international honor dental organization. Celebrated for his achievements, Dr. Arbaugh has been named Best Dentist in Texas and Best Dentist in the United States for over 20 combined times.

Exploring Full-Arch Dental Implants

What Does the Full-Arch Implants Procedure Entail?

The terms "All-on-4" and "Teeth in a Day" describe a procedure where patients receive replacement teeth in a single day. Variations include "Teeth in an Hour," "Dental Implants in One Day," "Teeth In One Day," and "Teeth In One Visit." Despite different names, they all refer to a one-day implant treatment for restoring an entire arch of teeth.

The Teeth-in-a-Day treatment uses 4-6 dental implants to attach a new set of permanent replacement teeth minimally invasively. These implants are designed for immediate function and often eliminate the need for bone grafting. Ideal for denture wearers or those needing full upper and/or lower restorations, this procedure offers a beautiful smile in just one day.

Our doctor's approach involves only four specially placed implants, avoiding the need for bone grafts and sinus lifts. This results in fixed teeth that are not removable, reducing costs and healing times. Patients regain their smile and function faster and more reliably than with traditional methods.

How Does the Full-Arch Implant Procedure Work?

During the full-arch implant procedure, 4-6 appliances are surgically placed into the jawbone and gums. After allowing sufficient time for healing, the implant bridge is securely attached. This bridge closely resembles the appearance of natural teeth. Periodic evaluations are necessary to ensure the health of both the prosthetic and implants.

The outpatient surgical procedure for full-arch dental implants is conducted in our office. Sedation, along with local anesthesia, is typically recommended for patient comfort.

Upon completion of the procedure, patients are fitted with a fixed complete denture before leaving the office. Once the implants have fully integrated with the bone, a second, stronger denture may be provided during a follow-up visit.

What are the Advantages of the Full-Arch Procedure?

Besides the quick treatment duration, full-arch dental implants offer numerous benefits compared to traditional dentures:

  • Immediate replacement teeth in as little as one day
  • Minimally invasive procedure
  • Reduced pain and swelling
  • Elimination of ill-fitting dentures
  • No need for denture adhesives
  • Enhanced security similar to natural teeth
  • Reduced number of dental appointments
  • Cost-effective compared to conventional implants
  • Life-changing results
